Audition Information

The Theatre Project currently does two community theatre shows and 2-6 student shows each year. Auditions for these will be announced on our website and Facebook page. Auditions usually take place in early January and early August. Performances are usually in late Spring and during the winter holidays

Information on tickets, performance dates, and times will also be listed on our website and Facebook once available.

We currently do not offer traditional classes but instead use rehearsals and the production process as a place for hands-on learning.

Along the way, James learns about courage, friendship, and the true meaning of family.

    Character Descriptions

    • James: A kind-hearted, brave orphan boy who dreams of escaping his harsh life with his aunts. He’s curious, imaginative, and finds inner strength through his adventures.

    • Ladahlord: A mysterious, magical man who sets James’s adventure in motion by giving him the enchanted crocodile tongues. He also serves as the narrator and guide throughout the story.

    • Aunt Spiker: One of James's cruel, selfish aunts. She is thin, sharp-tongued, and obsessed with making money. She constantly mistreats James.

    • Aunt Sponge: James's other aunt, equally mean but more comical in her laziness and greed. She is plump and vain, and also treats James poorly.

    • Old Green Grasshopper: A wise and cultured insect who acts as a father figure to James. He’s refined, musical, and protective of his friends.

    • Ladybug: A motherly, warm insect who takes on a nurturing role toward James. She is sweet, gentle, and loving.

    • Centipede: A boisterous, fun-loving insect with lots of legs and lots of attitude. He’s humorous, a bit brash, and brings energy to the group.

    • Earthworm: A pessimistic, nervous insect who constantly worries. Despite his anxiety, he proves to be brave when it matters most.

    • Spider: A clever, resourceful insect with a dry sense of humor. She’s elegant and becomes a close friend to James.
